Geek chic nerdy style is officially IN. Having slowly crept out of the shadows of comic book conventions and IT departments, nerd fashion has now become a staple amongst more conventional styles. Born from the anti-fashion style of tech entrepreneurs and pop-culture fanatics, geek chic has finally been adopted by the masses. Nerdy and geeky style is suddenly taking over and I’ve got some suggestions for how you can take on the trend.
No longer do you need to pop a pair of glasses on to exude that intellectual image you’ve been wanting to portray (though a nice, thick plastic pair certainly won’t hurt!) Simply donning a witty slogan tee, or looking the part of the preppy ‘nerd’ will grant you all of the geeky kudos you need.

In true nerd style, you won’t find the best Geek Shop items in high-street fashion boutiques: you’ll need to hop online and research your options. Nerdy button-up shirts
I absolutely love nerdy button up shirts. They just feel that little bit cooler than a tee during the summer months. If you fancy going full geek, then you can even button it up all the way to the top. I particularly like this one pictured. I haven’t got a clue how to read the equations, but it certainly makes for a nice pattern!
You certainly can’t beat a nerdy button up shirt when you’re going for geeky style. A shirt with buttons always has a kind of studious/preppy vibe, so covering it with cool equations cements it in the realm of dorky fashion. Perfect for a more preppy nerd style look.

Geek t shirts are an absolute must for anybody wanting to get their nerd on. Get a load of this rabbit/duck design above. I’ve always had a soft spot for optical illusions, so I’m already quite familiar with this one. It’s a classic, and dare I say it, even iconic. Those who haven’t seen it before though, will enjoy getting their head around what exactly is going on!
This T-shirt allows you to show your jokey side, while buying into the geek chic aesthetic. Personally, I think it’s a great introduction to do the type of nerdy fashion style that’s cool.

This slogan, while initially making you groan imagining THAT person at a party who has to argue every point, actually becomes a beacon for optimism in the ‘glass half…’ debate. Find it here.
I love the “glass is always full” approach. It’s much more optimistic than either of the famous half full/half empty options and the t-shirt shows off your upbeat and optimistic nature. You can’t go wrong with this nerdy style T-shirt – 10 out of 10, would recommend.
