4 Most Fun Summer Activities in Greece

One of your bucket list items is finally ticked off; you’ve landed in Greece!

And now what?

Don’t worry because I got you covered. Read this article and you will find four fun activities you must do while in Greece. All you need is to make sure that you have your favourite swimsuit and a lot of energy in order to enjoy this amazing adventure.

Hike Mount Olympus

Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece. It is situated in Northern Greece, and it is approximately a two-hour drive from the second largest city in the country, Thessaloniki. The reason you have to hike the specific mountain is because the twelve Olympian gods and goddesses were living on that mountain. Can you really deny an invitation to a god’s house? You don’t have anything to worry about since there are a lot of shelters throughout the way to the top.

Visit archaeological sites

I know that I promised fun activities and archaeological sites aren’t the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word fun – it could easily be the last one – but I want you to trust me on this. Visiting places like the Acropolis in Athens, or the Archaeological Park of Dion at the foot of Mount Olympus, you get to walk around what is left from ancient cities. It is a truly unique experience as you will see and wander around the ruins of houses, roads and public places.

Sail around

Greece is famous for its many islands. Mykonos and Santorini are the most famous ones, but others like Paros, Samos, Milos, and so on are equally beautiful and worth visiting. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to visit all of them in the limited time of your summer holidays. However, it is possible to visit more than you expected by sailing around from port to port. Either you have a sailing experience or not, voyarent.com has made the process of finding a boat owner and booking the right boat for you – with or without a crew – easy.

Water sports

If you ask me, going to a quiet beach and sunbathing while reading a good book is my ideal summer activity. However, if you want to try something a bit more extreme while you are in Greece, you can! At the most popular beaches of every island and of every coastal city, there are businesses that offer you equipment to do any water sport you want. You can do something easy, like boating and jet skiing, or more extreme activities, like parasailing and crazy squab. Of course, you can also try snorkeling and scuba diving.

Whatever you decide to do, have fun on your trip and take a lot of pictures and videos so that you remember everything
