Simba are a brand that’s well-known for having amazing mattresses. I don’t know anyone who’s bought a Simba mattress and not cited it as the best night’s sleep they’ve ever had. But what about a Simba bed? How does a Simba bed perform with a Simba mattress?
I’ve been lucky enough t o upgrade my mattress to a Simba a couple of months ago, and I was recently send a Simba bed for the purpose of this review. So now I can report on the difference of having just a Simba mattress compared to the whole shebang – a Simba mattress paired with a Simba bed frame.
Simba Sherwood Bed Review

We chose a Simba Sherwood bed to try because it looks good and allows for a lot of storage underneath. We’re upgrading from a basic divan base that only had two drawers at the foot end of the bed, so we we’re really excited about the extra storage space.
This bed is a solid wood frame, with an integrated head board and a slatted base. It’s a lovely classic design made of sturdy ash wood.
Is a Simba Bed Easy To Assemble?

One of the biggest positives for me is that the Sherwood bed is very easy to assemble. It arrived in two parcels, one very heavy one that needs two people to lift and another that just has the lengths of wood for the length of the bed which is much lighter. I’d recommend doing what I did and opening the heavy box downstairs and taking the individual pieces up one at a time. The headboard, foot of the bed and slats etc are very manageable on their own.
I can’t stress enough what a pleasure this was to put together. I’ve found it’s very rare to get a flatpack that has all the pieces, has easy to follow instructions and is physically easy to assemble but this bed ticks all the boxes. It might be the only flat pack I’ve ever assembled that does tick the boxes!
It didn’t take too long to build this bed and I love how ingenious the mechanism for fixing the slats in is. They just pop in using plastic sections, which means if we move house and need the take the bed down it’ll be reasonably simple to do so and assemble elsewhere.
Is The Simba Bed Sturdy?
I’ll admit I was a little apprehensive moving from a divan to a slatted base. We have kids that tend to clamber on the bed when we’re in it and I wondered how the extra weight would fare. I have to say that I’m really impressed.
The bed is very sturdy and in comparison to our old base, makes the Simba mattress feel extra comfy. I noticed the design of the bed meant the slats have an upwards curve to them which seems to offer more support that I’m used to. I didn’t realise a change of bed frame could make such a difference when I already had an amazing mattress.
Simba Bed Review After Sleeping on it

We’ve only had a few nights to try the bed and mattress together but we love it. It’s the most comfortable I think we’ve ever been. The bed helps add a certain firmness to the mattress that we didn’t know we were lacking. If you’re thinking of upgrading your mattress to a Simba, I’d splash out and get a Simba bed frame too if you can stretch. It’ll massively improve your comfort and allow you to get an amazing night’s sleep.
So is a Simba Bed Worth It?

In my opinion, a Simba bed is well worth it. I love our mattress, but adding the Simba bed base did make a difference, which really surprised me.
The Simba bed we went with has the choice for under bed bed drawers to be added to the order at £149 a pair. I think we might actually invest in some to maximise our under bed storage.
All in all, it’s a nice looking bed that was easy to assemble and glorious to sleep on. If you’re thinking about replacing your bed then I can vouch for Simba.
